”— Fallout 4 loading screen hintsThe Pack is a raider gang operating out of Nuka-World in 2287.
Background
Embracing their most basic instincts, members of the Pack embrace the animal side of their personality. The Pack has existed for years, but it didn't come into prominence until it assisted Colter in its attack on Nuka-World and seizure of the park.[1]
Society

Over the years, the Pack has embraced the social structure of the animal kingdom. They see strength in the pack and great power in its cruel, brutal efficiency.[2] As of 2287, Mason is the Pack's alpha (leader), after tarring and feathering the previous two alphas,[3] but small power struggles constantly flare up as old and new members attempt to assert their dominance and take his place.[4] The use of elaborate pranks and public humiliation is the primary source of establishing dominance within the Pack.[5] Killing one another is prohibited, to prevent attrition.[6]
The Pack hold nothing sacred and nothing safe, in keeping with their rejection of reason and restraint. As a result, alcohol and drug abuse is widespread among its members, and cannibalism is commonplace.[7]Human and animal life has no value in the Pack, with cage fights between captured animals and humans a regular occurrence. Those who are particularly unlucky may find themselves chained inside a cage with a wild animal, driven into a frenzy by the Pack's members. The resulting remains of the impromptu slaughter are then processed into food for the rest of the group.[8] The Pack frequently uses animals in combat, limited only by what its members can tame. Although they focus on dogs and other canines, they can even use brahmin, gazelles, and even yao guai as beasts of war. Perhaps the oddest example of taming is the infamous feral ghoul chair.[9]
Technology
As a raider gang, the Pack typically uses whatever it can lay its hands on. The principal weapon are automatic handmade rifles painted in the characteristically colorful livery of the Pack, with protection provided by whatever is at hand. The Pack as a whole forgoes functionality in terms of appearance: Their clothes and armor are bright and colorful, made from salvaged furniture, toys, tools, and sometimes even actual pieces of armor and clothing. War paint is commonplace, as are necklaces made from animal parts, used to emphasize one's social standing. Notably, to support its members' various drug habits, the Pack has a capable team of chemists brewing the necessary stuff on-site.[10]
Interactions with the player character
- In Nuka-World, the Pack is one of three raider gangs at the amusement park and can be favored by assigning them territories. Favoring the pack grants the Pack Alpha perk at the conclusion of Home Sweet Home.
Appearances
The Pack appears only in the Fallout 4add-onNuka-World.
